Coordinator Service Planning and Development (Family, Youth and Children's Services)

Key responsibilities- Lead important and impactful projects for children, young people, and their families in Yarra
- Coordinate, lead and implement a range of strategic projects that drive continuous improvement and integrated service delivery in response to community needs and policy/ funding reform
- Work closely with the branch leadership team and Manager to ensure changes in policy, legislation and funding are well-planned and that the Executive Leadership Team and Councillors are well-informed to support timely decisions
- Oversee and coordinate the branch administration team
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to support policy, research, evaluation, strategic service planning and branch administration
Yarra City Council's Family, Youth and Children's Services Branch is an innovative team that supports and improves the lives of children, families and young people. The branch provides services and programs, and plans for, advocates with, and partners with others to ensure integrated services across birth to 25 years.
The branch has five interconnected service units:
- Children's Services: early childhood and education and care services
- Connie Benn Centre: integrated family and children's hub
- Family Services: Maternal and Child Health, immunisation, Integrated Family Services, and playgroups
- Service Planning and Development: policy, research, evaluation, strategic service planning and branch administration
- Youth and Middle Years Services: programs, advocacy and youth engagement
The branch also supports Council's Families and Children's Advisory Committee, local toy libraries, and Fitzroy Adventure Playground.
Required capabilities and qualifications- Strong communicator with political astuteness
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects with a wide range of stakeholders
- Strategic thinker capable of guiding policy and program development in response to reform
