Myndshift Group has been engaged by our client partner an ASX listed mining contractor to recruit an experiencedBusiness Development Managerto assist with the company's growth plans and be a dominant force in surface contract mining across the east coast of Australia.

Reporting to the General Manager – Surface Mining East, you will be employed on a permanent full-time basis working a Monday to Friday roster in their corporate Brisbane head office with regular travel to site and various networking events when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and NZ researching potential clients, analysing market trends, and identifying new revenue streams.
  • Developing business strategies and creating plans to achieve short-term and long-term goals, often in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Engaging with clients from operational to senior management levels, including commercial and technical contacts.
  • Building and maintaining relationships through cultivating relationships with existing clients, partners, and stakeholders, as well as forging new connections
  • Preparing proposals and tender documents, negotiating contracts, and finalising agreements with new and existing clients.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to develop business strategies that puts the company in a dominant market-leading position.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Development roles preferably in mining or civil.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or equivalent in the civil and mining sector, or a related discipline highly regarded.
  • Confident communicator and presenter with excellent follow-up and relationship skills.
  • Comfortable managing tenders, complex negotiations, and solution-based client outcomes
  • Strong commercial acumen and proposal writing expertise with attention to detail and customer service mindset.
  • Proven ability to build relationships across all levels of an organisation.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with business leaders.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
