Your Opportunity

As a Human Resources Business Partner you will work closely with managers to provide support and advice on a diverse range of human resource matters. You will have the opportunity to contribute to policy development, workforce planning and various human resource projects as they arise. This position reports to the Human Resources Operations Manager. This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity. The position will be based primarily at Cairns however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational advice to staff and management in relation to terms and conditions of employment including the interpretation and application of certified agreements, awards, directives and policies.
  • Manage human resource cases including discipline, complaints, appeals, rehabilitation and injury management programs.
  • Interpret, analyse and monitor human resource data and reports to assist managers with workforce planning and operational matters and formulate corrective and performance improvement actions where required.
  • Oversee and coordinate recruitment and selection processes within your area of responsibility including developing and updating role descriptions and providing effective advice and mentoring throughout all phases of recruitment including selection methodologies.
  • Actively participate in strategic and operational planning processes, committees and networks, including consultation processes with TAFE Queensland, unions and staff representatives.
  • Develop and deliver various training programs including Inductions, Code of Conduct and Standard of Practice, Recruitment and Selection, Workplace Health and Safety and general human resource management related training as required.
  • Manage human resource projects as they arise to deliver high quality human resource solutions and customer outcomes.
  • Support the Work Health and Safety Advisor in the promotion and implementation of work health and safety initiatives.
  • Maintain an understanding of the commercial aspects of TAFE including financial and business performance and any impact from external factors.
  • Actively engage with industry, business and the community.
