As a large operation, we seek a confident and enthusiastic person who shares our values – Think Sharp, Dig In and Care – to join our high performing team. This role reports to the Safety Superintendent and is responsible for providing technical expertise, implementation and delivery of safety strategies, systems and initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safety strategies, systems, and initiatives
  • Engage with operational leaders to drive safety improvement
  • Support site leadership to drive a positive culture through engagement and communication
  • Utilise data analytics to identify trends, measure performance, and inform decision-making
  • Develop and coordinate site assurance program
  • Maintain and identify improvements in the safety management system
  • Provide technical advice regarding risk management framework
  • Roster and location: Monday to Friday professional roster; based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)
About You / Qualifications
  • Qualifications in Work, Health and Safety
  • Auditing qualification with demonstrated experience
  • Minimum 3 years in a similar role
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Positive disposition with ability to influence and inspire others
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads, projects and conflicting priorities
  • Holds self and others to account
  • Authentic safety professional with a passion for results
  • Compelling communicator with the courage to challenge the status quo
