Job Detail: Injury Management Specialist

Full time position with attractive salary and Not For Profit benefits. This is a hybrid role and has work from home flexibility, as well as in the office which is located in North Parramatta and close to public transport.

Your role is integral to the effectiveness of the team in providing subject matter expertise on workplace injury management and recovery practices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Northcott is looking for an Injury Management Specialist to own injury claims within the organisation. You will have a "hands on" approach to working with injured workers, employers, medical providers and stakeholders.

  • Be the first point of contact in providing advice, guidance and support for targeted injury management
  • Be involved in advising on the development, implementation and evaluation of effective best practice for WHS services at Northcott
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Facilitate a best practice approach to injury management and achieve timely sustainable return to work outcomes
  • Provide first level advice to managers and employees in relation to work health and safety matters
  • Conduct and monitor incident investigations and identify contributing factors
  • Monitor workers compensation claims costs, liaise with external stakeholders including treatment advisors, insurers etc.
  • Coach site managers on the principles of injury management, and provide instruction on return-to-work obligations and processes
  • Partner with HR following disclosure of non-work related medical conditions, considering industrial risks
ABOUT YOU
  • Strong practical and theoretical understanding of injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-work practices, including relevant legislation and guidance material
  • Strong understanding of NSW, QLD and ACT relevant legislative requirements
  • Relevant experience of management psychological claims
  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related business discipline
  • 5+ years' experience in workers compensation claims administration and/or consultancy
  • Demonstrated experience in incident investigation and risk assessment
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to regional locations in NSW, ACT and Qld
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills at all levels of an organisation
