Overview

HSSE Advisor role at Kent. The HSSE Advisor will support the Kent project team with coordinating and implementing the Company HSSE Management program, providing field support on safety, occupational health and environmental issues, and monitoring objectives and targets to ensure full implementation at Company locations.

Role responsibilities
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of project HSSE requirements, specifically the HSSE plan, ensure full implementation and on-site availability of the plan for project staff.
  • Facilitate and provide support and guidance on effective HSSE risk management by performing daily reviews on StepBack and Job Hazard Assessments (JHA).
  • Promote hazard identification and reporting, and identify unsafe working conditions and behaviours.
  • Monitor compliance with the permit to work system on work sites.
  • Ensure the emergency response preparedness plan is fully implemented; ensure employees are aware of emergency protocols and participate in ERP drills as per schedules.
  • Perform Level 1 HSSE inspections as per the project HSSE Plan and report findings to the HSSE supervisor/manager.
  • Ensure employees have relevant competencies and certification to perform their work (e.g., crane drivers, equipment operators).
  • Report incidents promptly, preserve the incident area and support investigations to gather required data.
  • Ensure toolbox talks are conducted in applicable languages and report shortfalls to the HSSE Supervisor/Manager.
About you / Qualifications
  • NVQ or NFQ Level 3 Qualification; IOSH; OSHA 30.
  • Strong hands-on experience in field-based risk management, with the ability to identify and act on unsafe conditions or behaviours.
  • Confident communicator capable of delivering safety messages to internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; solid understanding of root cause analysis and investigation techniques.
  • Working knowledge of HSSE requirements in construction, including ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001; able to perform and close out site inspections efficiently.
