Crowne Plaza Melbourne Carlton is a vibrant cosmopolitan hotel located in Melbourne's Innovation District, close to world-class universities. Overlooking Lincoln Square, it offers guests a unique urban experience whether for business or leisure. The hotel features a new restaurant aiming to be Carlton's culinary destination, flexible conference spaces with advanced technology, and private dining rooms for exclusive events.

About the Role

As Night Manager, you will report to the Front Office Manager and play a key role in the hotel's pre-opening phase, establishing operational foundations and fostering a positive work culture. Post-opening, your responsibilities will include managing overnight operations, supervising staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining safety and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Services: Manage guest services during overnight hours, including handling late arrivals, early departures, and guest requests.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and support the overnight team, including front desk agents and security.
  • Financial Management: Perform night audits, reconcile accounts, and ensure transaction accuracy.
  • Daily Reporting: Prepare and distribute daily reports on financial and operational metrics.
  • Security and Safety: Monitor security systems, conduct patrols, and respond to incidents.
  • Emergency Response: Act as Chief Warden during emergencies, following crisis protocols.
Requirements
  • Qualification: Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in hotel openings or conversions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with hotel auditing and reporting systems.
  • Language: Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability: Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Hotel Systems: Experience with hotel PMS systems such as Opera, RMS, or similar.
  • Work Authorization: Legal right to work in Australia.
