About the Role

As a Tax Accountant at Sapphire Bay Partners, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our clients across a wide range of accounting and tax services, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and value-driven outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing tax returns & financial statements (companies, trusts, individuals, etc.)
• Lodging BAS, IAS & other ATO obligations
• Providing tax planning & structuring advice (Div 7A, CGT, concessions)
• Managing client relationships & ATO correspondence
• Using cloud-based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB)
• Collaborating with internal team to deliver seamless client outcomes

About You

We're after a driven, capable Tax Accountant who's passionate about making an impact that brings:

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public practice firm
• CPA or CA certified preferred, or working towards it
• Expertise in Australian tax compliance (individuals, trusts, companies, partnerships)
• Proficient in cloud-based accounting tools like Xero, QuickBooks, and MYOB (certifications preferred)
• Strong communication skills with a talent for breaking down complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Skilled at building trusted client relationships, grounded in reliability, clear communication, and a genuine commitment to client success
• High attention to detail, proactive time management, and the ability to work independently
• Driven by a growth mindset, continuously seeking improvement, embracing feedback, and staying ahead in a dynamic business environment
• Full working rights in Australia – please note, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role
