Executive Assistant - CEO and Mayoral Unit

Permanent Full-time
Band 6 - $89,780 - $97,724 yearly, plus 12% statutory superannuation

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Executive Assistant to provide exceptional administrative and strategic support to our Chief Executive Officer, Mayor and Councillors. This is a key role at the heart of Council, ensuring our leadership team can focus on delivering for the community.

About the Role

In this fast-paced and rewarding position, you will:

  • Coordinate diaries, meetings, travel and event commitments for the CEO and Councillors.
  • Prepare accurate correspondence, agendas, briefing papers and reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government representatives, business and community groups.
  • Act as the first point of contact for sensitive and confidential matters, exercising sound judgement and discretion.
  • Support the delivery of strategic initiatives, Council events, and civic functions.
  • Assist the CEO and Mayor on special projects and contribute to continuous improvement across the CEO's business unit.

About You

You thrive in a busy executive environment, remain calm under pressure and enjoy making complex schedules run smoothly.

You will bring:

  • Extensive experience in a senior executive support role (local government or similar environment is an advantage).
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High-level interpersonal skills with the confidence to liaise effectively at all levels.
  • Strong discretion and judgement in handling confidential information.
  • Advanced computer skills across Microsoft Office, SharePoint, OneNote and online meeting platforms.

A current driver's licence, Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain) are required.
