About the Role

As the Emerging Technology Lead, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating market scans, thought leadership, and evaluation of mid-to-long-term emerging digital technologies that can transform BHP's operations.

In this role, your key accountabilities will include:

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and explore how new digital technologies can help achieve our strategic goals.
  • Analyse new technologies to assess their readiness for implementation, how they can be integrated into our technology landscape, and how they enable digital strategies and asset plans.
  • Work across our business to co-ordinate research and evaluation of new digital technologies, as well as engagement with partners and vendors.
  • Contribute to a team culture that values safety, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About You
  • A degree or equivalent experience in technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge in current and emerging digital technologies, with insight into how they can be applied to enhance safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Practical understanding of the mining industry or similar sectors.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and work effectively across different stakeholder groups.
  • A detail-oriented mindset, with effective problem-solving skills and a consistent track record of meeting deadlines.
