Our client is an established mining company with a strong operational presence in Australia and internationally. We are currently hiring multiple roles across their finance department, including the position of General Manager - Finance and Financial Controller.

Role Description

The Financial Controller is a senior finance leadership role responsible for group-level financial reporting, consolidation, and audit coordination across international operations. This role demands strong technical expertise in AASB, IFRS, and Chinese Accounting Standards (CAS), as well as a deep commitment to financial governance and compliance. You will oversee statutory reporting, ERP system integrity, and cross-border submissions while leading a high-performing team to ensure financial accuracy and operational transparency.

Reports to: General Manager of Finance

Direct Reports: 2

Work Flexibility: Flexible working hours

Salary: $180,000 - $200,000 + Super + Up to 10% Annual Bonus

Location: Adelaide, SA

Duties

• Preparing consolidated financial statements in compliance with AASB, IFRS, ASIC, and internal standards.
• Managing month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities.
• Overseeing statutory reporting for Australian and international subsidiaries.
• Coordinating external audits and maintaining strong governance and internal controls.
• Ensuring ERP and BI system data integrity, supporting automation, and process improvements.
• Preparing reports for overseas shareholders in compliance with Chinese Accounting Standards (CAS).
• Leading and developing a small finance team.
  
  

Requirements

• CPA or CA qualification.
• Strong technical knowledge of AASB, IFRS, ASIC, and CAS.
• ERP/BI expertise (preferably Pronto and Power BI).
• Mandarin fluency highly desirable.
