Elements Bar and Grill are in search of a talented and passionate Head Chef to join their team. The ideal candidates will have extensive culinary expertise and a flair for creating innovative menus, with a focus on modern Australian and international cuisines. Responsibilities will include preparing dishes that align with the restaurant's high standards, engaging in menu development, managing kitchen inventory, and ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead kitchen staff with excellent leadership.
  • Cooking and meal preparation.
  • Develop new dishes and plan menu considering development and labour costs.
  • Order and maintain inventory of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure food safety compliance.
  • Team collaboration - supervise and co-ordinate.
  • Banquet menu creation.
  • Kitchen upkeep.
  • Develop and maintain presentation of dishes.
  • Roster kitchen staff.
  • Assist management with training and mentoring of new staff.
  • Ensure food is stored as per the food safety standards.
  • Perform effectively under pressure in a bustling kitchen environment.
  • Practice cost control and culinary best practices.
Requirements
  • Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents encouraged to apply.
  • Associate Degree, Diploma or advanced diploma in Commercial Cookery or relevant AQF Associate degree.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of demonstrated experience as a Chef, ideally within a comparable restaurant.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
  • A strong passion for culinary arts and a commitment to upholding high culinary standards.
