About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you'll be the trusted point of contact for a portfolio of commercial clients, building strong relationships, managing enquiries, and ensuring the delivery of outstanding service. You'll collaborate with builders, architects, and installers to support projects from planning through to fulfilment, ensuring every touchpoint is smooth, timely, and professional.

This role is primarily focused on Key account management, with responsibilities that include handling inbound requests, following up on quotes, resolving issues, and identifying additional sales opportunities. While much of your communication will be via phone and email, you'll also engage with clients face-to-face when needed to maintain rapport and drive long-term partnerships.

This full-time position runs Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, and includes structured performance incentives tied to client satisfaction and revenue growth. You'll be supported by a dedicated internal team that allows you to focus on what you do best—delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, acting as the go-to person for all sales enquiries, quotes, and escalations
  • Build strong and lasting relationships with clients, earning their trust and loyalty
  • Provide tailored product recommendations and support for project requirements
  • Interpret technical information and work closely with builders, installers, and architects
  • Partner with your Customer Service Specialist to ensure prompt and accurate service
  • Follow up on quotes, secure project wins, and contribute to the growth of your account base
  • Identify upsell opportunities, propose new products, and negotiate pricing when needed
  • Maintain accurate client and order data in Salesforce (or similar CRM)
  • Collaborate with the broader sales team and contribute to a positive team culture

The Ideal Candidate

You're someone who genuinely enjoys working with people. You're responsive on the phone, able to think on your feet, and not rattled by a 'no'. In fact, you're ready with a considered and confident solution. You keep your CRM clean, your to-do list up to date, and your clients in the loop.

You will come from an Account Manager background with experience and success in dealing with significant revenue based accounts. You may come from a background in aluminium systems, construction materials, or related industries, but what matters most is your professionalism, hunger to meet targets, and ability to build relationships that last. You understand how to interpret technical information, and you're comfortable liaising with builders, installers, and architects to ensure solutions align with project needs.
