About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance and Quality Control Manager, your focus will be maintenance scheduling, compliance with legislative regulations, inventory and workshop data base, outsourced repairs, and fleet availability.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the workshop team in collaboration with supervisors optimising staff utilisation and vehicle availability.
  • Management of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance processes, on-time servicing performance, vehicles off-road and reduction of defects.
  • Compliance with government regulations, internal audits, external accreditation, vehicles COIs and environmental practices.
  • Maintenance of depot fleet: ensuring peak vehicle requirements for contracted services is met, reduction in breakdowns, and internal/external presentation of vehicles.
Skills and experience
  • Experience in leading a heavy vehicle workshop.
  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Trade.
  • Experience in fleet management and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Problem solving skills, strategic thinker, attention to detail.
  • Experience and knowledge of Department of Transport legislation including inspections and compliance audits (preferred).
  • Intermediate computer skills – ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Hold a valid MR/HR licence.
  • Strong Diagnosis Skills.
  • Experience on Volvo and Scania Chassis (preferred).
