Salary/Starting Pay: Based on classification and pay plan for Classified employees: Grade 18 $16.68 p/h (HS Diploma and ParaPro min score 457 or 60 hrs college credit in core curriculum) Grade 19 $17.06 p/h (AA / AS or higher)

Qualifications
  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education or successful completion of the ParaPro test with a score of 457 or higher.
  • Experience working w/children.
  • Head Start Preschool asst teacher qualification requirements: As prescribed in section 648A(a)(2) (B)(ii) of the Act, a program must ensure Head Start Preschool asst teachers, at a minimum, have a CDA credential or a State-awarded cert that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential, are enrolled in a program that will lead to an AA or baccalaureate degree or, are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within 2 years of time of hire.
  • For PARA II (GR 19): AA degree or higher from an accredited educational institution required.
  • Experience working w/children.
