FY26: Paraeducator Level II, Head Start & PEP combo, Strawberry Knoll ES, 4 hrs (2 hr Head Start/2 hr PEP) — Ad Closes 9/11/25
Responsibilities- Duties of this position include academic, self-care, and behavior support for PEP/Head Start students in their classrooms, including toileting and feeding.
- Assist with ensuring students board the appropriate school bus during the afternoon dismissal route to ensure Head Start bus riders arrive home safely.
- Perform related instructional and classroom management supports, and clerical tasks to support teachers and other professional staff in all types of classrooms or learning environments.

- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies and practices applicable to Montgomery County Public Schools; ability to implement instructional program; monitor and support student behavior; patient interaction with children, young adults, and staff; ability to follow written and verbal instructions; effective written and verbal communication; ability to read/write/speak English; ability to support students with special needs; knowledge of standard computer hardware/software (Google Workspace, MS Office, web-based instructional tools); ability to learn SSPGS core competencies.
- Education, Training, and Experience: These requirements are in order of preference:
- Associate's degree, required. Bachelor's degree preferred. 9 credit-hours related to education (e.g., behavior management, instructional strategies). One year of experience working with students in structured educational settings preferred. If no related education coursework, then two to four years of experience with children/adolescents in a structured setting (daycare, pre-school, etc.) is required.
- At least 48 college credits and two years of experience in a structured setting (daycare, pre-school, adult day program, after-school program, extended day, or school/non-school based departments).
- Two years of experience in a structured setting (daycare, pre-school, adult day program, after-school program, extended day, or school/non-school based departments). Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment with a qualifying score of 455 or higher is required.
- Any combinations of applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
