Lead Pharmacist - Medication Safety and Quality Improvement

Remuneration: $66.49 - $68.29 per hour plus superannuation

The role

We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to join our team. You will collaborate with pharmacy, nursing and medical staff, Patient Safety Managers, and consumers to champion safe medication practices across the hospital. You will lead initiatives such as Medication Safety Walkarounds, oversee the Safe Use of Medicines Committee, and contribute to incident reviews and policy development. This role supports NSQHS Standard 4 compliance and provides opportunities for clinical leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Lead medication safety initiatives and quality improvement projects in a hospital setting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote safe and effective medication use.
  • Oversee governance processes such as the Safe Use of Medicines Committee and contribute to incident reviews and policy development.
  • Support compliance with NSQHS Standard 4 and participate in clinical leadership activities.
  • Engage with patients, carers and consumers to strengthen meaningful involvement in medication safety.
