Role overviewThis role supports both project and business-as-usual payroll functions, reporting to the Payroll Manager. Initially, you will support the implementation of the Dayforce HCMS platform by testing payroll configurations, validating parallel pay runs and ensuring compliance with awards and legislation. After go-live, you will focus on delivering accurate and timely fortnightly payroll processing, reporting and providing responsive support to employees and managers across Victoria.
Responsibilities- Support Dayforce implementation through system configuration, testing, and resolving discrepancies with HR, project teams and vendors.

- Validate pay components including leave, superannuation, tax, deductions, and allowances; maintain variance logs.
- Conduct Excel-based reconciliation and reporting.
- Assist with go-live preparation, cutover planning, hypercare support and knowledge transfer.
- Process accurate and timely fortnightly payrolls, including employee movements and payroll events within Dayforce.

- Generate, reconcile and contribute to payroll reports and audits; support ad hoc reporting requests.
- Provide responsive, professional support to employees and managers on payroll queries and procedures.
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements post-Dayforce implementation, collaborating with Finance, IT, and HR.
You will have experience with Dayforce or a similar HCMS/payroll system, demonstrated payroll expertise across multiple awards and strong analytical skills to support both implementation and ongoing payroll operations.
- End-to-end payroll processing experience in a complex, award-based environment, with knowledge of PAYG, superannuation, workers compensation and FBT.
- Experience supporting payroll system implementations or upgrades, including parallel pay runs and resolving system configuration issues.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formula-based reconciliations) and experience creating payroll test scenarios and validation reports.
- High attention to detail and accuracy; able to troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to engage stakeholders across HR, Finance and IT.
- Commitment to the values and mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society; adaptability and resilience in changing project environments.
- Team-oriented with a customer service mindset; able to manage sensitive payroll queries with discretion.
