Overview

As a Process Operator (Boiler Operator) at Wilmar Sugar and Renewables, you'll be responsible for operating the super-heated boilers, turbine generators, ash handling systems and bagasse system.

This position is based at Pioneer Mill in North Queensland's Burdekin region, known for its landscapes, agricultural heritage, and a vibrant community. The Burdekin region offers a lifestyle with a warm climate, beaches and a range of recreational activities, making it a great place to live and work.

For approximately 10 months of the year this permanent position operates on a continuous rotating shift roster (extended shift roster due to Pioneer's cogeneration operations). For the remainder of the year, the role switches to a day work schedule with RDOs most Fridays.

Your Role in Action
  • Smooth Operator: Operate and monitor boiler station to ensure sufficient levels of steam are driving the alternators which generate power for factory operations and external demands.
  • Clear & Concise: Provide regular and accurate feedback to Mill management on station performance.
  • Ready, Set, Competent: Willing and able to achieve relevant sugar milling module competencies.
  • Collaboration Crew: Assist with the professional development of boiler assistants.
  • Safety Guardian: Show a strong commitment to safety.
Your Winning Combination

Our ideal candidate must have a High Risk Work Licence for Turbine Operator (TO) and Advanced Boiler Operator (BA). Whilst applicants with High-Risk Work Licences (e.g. Working Safely at Heights and Confined Spaces) are desirable, we are prepared to provide training to those who show the right aptitude and fit.
