
Staff Specialist Urology, Queensland Health

About the role
Provide clinical care to patients requiring Urological Services within the West Moreton Hospital and Health Service, and manage the provision, development, and maintenance of an effective, efficient, and equitable service to ensure appropriate patient care. This includes outpatient, inpatient, elective, and emergency surgery. Additionally, provide professional leadership within the specialty area and offer training, education, and supervision to junior medical staff and other healthcare members.
About you
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of current medical practices and issues, with evidence of appropriate expertise in the discipline's skills.
- Ability to review, analyze, and evaluate patient care to identify appropriate treatments and investigations.
- Well-developed communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal) to interact effectively with staff and hospital clients from diverse backgrounds.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards in clinical care and the ability to respond promptly to emergency or urgent situations impacting patient care.
- Ability to practice medicine in a cross-cultural environment.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccination against, and ongoing immunity to, certain vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the relevant policies.
- Proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies must be provided prior to commencing clinical duties.
- MBBS or equivalent qualification registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
