Join to apply for the Chief Financial Officer role at Sharp & Carter
A rare opportunity to join a much-loved fashion retail brand at a pivotal moment of transformation. Following private equity acquisition, the business is in growth mode and ready for a CFO who can lead finance, IT, payroll, and inventory/logistics - and partner directly with the CEO to shape the future.
The roleAs CFO, you'll lead a high-calibre team spanning finance, systems, payroll, inventory, logistics, and soon, IT. Reporting to the CEO, you'll have direct Board exposure and the mandate to modernise systems, improve processes, and elevate finance from a transactional function to a true business partner.
Key responsibilities- Lead and mentor a multi-functional team including finance, IT, payroll, and inventory/logistics
- Oversee cash flow, forecasting, and financial governance in a fast-paced retail environment
- Drive technology transformation - assess tech stack, identify gaps, and build business cases for change
- Optimise team structure for a simpler entity framework (Australia & NZ)
- Partner with the CEO and Board to shape and execute strategy
- Manage the 3PL warehousing
- Embed cost centre ownership and budget discipline across the business
- Transformation mandate - freedom to restructure, implement systems, and make lasting impact
- Board visibility - direct influence with PE stakeholders and industry leaders
- Growth agenda - brand is investing in online expansion and operational improvements
- Hybrid working - one WFH day per week + flexibility as required
- Attractive perks - clothing allowance, parking, device package, potential relocation support, future STI/LTIP
- CA/CPA qualified with senior leadership experience in retail (vertical fashion manufacturing highly regarded)
- Proven in managing cash flow, governance, and change in a complex, fast-moving environment
- Skilled in systems and IT strategy, with an interest in technology-driven improvement
- Able to build trust and influence at Board, CEO, and executive peer level
- Comfortable leading teams through transition, restructuring, and cultural change
- Ideally with private equity exposure, but not essential if retail manufacturing expertise is strong
This is a high-impact role for a CFO who thrives in transformation and wants to leave a tangible legacy. You'll join a newly formed, high-energy executive team where collaboration and pace are key, and where the opportunities to create value are abundant.
