The role
The Portfolio Management Office Lead is responsible for providing administrative and financial support to the Portfolio Delivery Team and the broader Business Technology Services branch at South East Water.
This multifaceted role includes ownership of the BTS delivery framework, key delivery enablement platforms, minor project delivery, and active participation in stakeholder and change management initiatives. The position significantly influences the successful delivery of programs and projects, with a focus on continuous improvement, user engagement, and operational alignment.
The core responsibilities include:
- Leading portfolio reporting and supporting program and project status updates
- Supporting proactive risk and issue management (collaborating with Cyber GRC Role)
- Maintaining accurate forecasts for the project portfolio
- Tracking overall delivery costs (CAPEX + SaaS)
- Maintaining and enhancing portfolio, program, and project management tools
- Supporting the maturation of our ways of working
- Enabling resource supply and demand matching
- Supporting the preparation of business cases
Who are you?
Successful candidates will demonstrate stakeholder engagement skills and have an interest in Information Technology, supported by relevant qualifications or experience. Key skills and experience include:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
- Experience working in project environments with knowledge of agile, SAFe, waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
- Understanding of high-performing IT delivery organizations — roles, responsibilities, tooling
- Experience supporting teams to adhere to practices and procedures through influence and collaboration
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for developing status reports and delivery materials
- Experience in financial reporting for senior management
- Experience in risk and issue management, as well as IT resource management
- An innovative, proactive approach to problem-solving and task management

This role is remunerated at a Level 5, between $115,748 and $122,323 plus superannuation, with offers based on experience.
