Overview

Senior Advisor, Briefings & Correspondence – Fixed Term Position until 30 November 2026. Lead a small, high-performing team to deliver ministerial briefings, correspondence and related information. Report to the Manager, Briefings & Correspondence and collaborate with ministerial offices, the Secretary's office and senior executives to provide coordinated, insightful and professional advice to portfolio ministers.

This role blends operational delivery with strategic oversight, identifying emerging issues, driving process improvements, and leading key initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Provides effective leadership, people management and supports the development of capability across the team.
  • Supervises team outputs and assists in the allocation and prioritisation of work to ensure delivery against deadlines and quality standards.
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external business areas, and prioritises understanding stakeholder issues.
  • Drafts, edits and reviews policy and process documents, briefs, correspondence and other written materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, policy alignment and compliance.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of government services, processes, and systems (mandatory).
  • Demonstrated experience in building networks and relationships (mandatory).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (desirable).
