We are searching for a Long-Term Care Assistant to join our Kiknu Long Term Care team based in Eskasoni, Nova Scotia.

About The Opportunity

• Spending one on one time with residents to provide company, meaningful and appropriate conversation and support
• Answering call bells and redirecting residents when appropriate
• Supporting residents in recreation programming
• Assisting residents with eating under the direction of nursing staff
• Employee screening including measuring and recording temperatures
• Promoting and enforcing social distancing protocols
• Monitoring points of entry
• Assisting with family visits, meal services, daily activities and other tasks such as using technology
• Performing light housekeeping duties for residents (bed making, linen delivery, cleaning)
  
  

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

• A post-secondary education, a valid First Aid & CPR certificate, food handler's certificate, and/or experience working in a healthcare environment
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening upon hire
• Previous work experience that is client focused, safety minded, and covers a broad skillset
• Available to work shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• You are adaptable, friendly, and eager to provide assistant where necessary
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
