About The Role

The Community Engagement Officer supports meaningful engagement between the City of Hobart and its communities. You will help deliver consistent, high-quality engagement across diverse projects, ensuring community voices are heard and valued.

Role Accountabilities Include
  • Represent the City at events and engagement activities
  • Advise project teams on planning and delivering effective engagement
  • Promote inclusive participation through diverse engagement methods
  • Collaborate with Communications to raise awareness of engagement initiatives
  • Develop clear, engaging content for plans, reports and Your Say Hobart
  • Analyse engagement data and produce reports for the Council
  • Support the Senior Advisor in advancing best practice engagement

About You

You Will Bring

  • A diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Community Development, or Social Sciences, supported by relevant experience in community engagement
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver contemporary engagement methodologies across diverse projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing detailed reports and engaging a wide range of stakeholders
  • A sound understanding of cultural diversity and inclusion principles, with a commitment to equitable and respectful engagement
  • A current Drivers Licence and registration to Work with Vulnerable People
