Role overview

We are looking for a passionate Community Claims Specialist to connect workers with local community programs, helping them overcome barriers and achieve positive claims outcomes. This role is focused on supporting vulnerable workers and those with complex needs by providing a comprehensive return-to-health and return-to-work solution. The successful candidate will facilitate access to appropriate support networks, work with the claims team to achieve successful return-to-work and health outcomes, and provide face-to-face support at medical case conferences, complementing the claims process.



Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Access to Community Programs: Guide workers in navigating local community resources and assist them in accessing necessary support.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Establish rapport with workers to understand their unique situations and needs.
  • Collaborate with Claims Teams: Work strategically with claims teams to ensure seamless integration of community support into the claims process.
  • Provide Face-to-Face Support: Attend medical case conferences to offer direct support and ensure needs are addressed.
  • Professional Interaction: Maintain professionalism in all interactions with internal and external customers.
  • People-Centered Claims Management: Employ a person-centered approach, focusing on understanding and addressing the individual needs of workers.


About You
  • Demonstrated experience with local community programs, government-funded programs, and local charity supports to assist overcoming workers' barriers
  • Proven working experience in a social work or community engagement role
  • Allied Health or Social Work qualifications
  • High level interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Effective communication skills, and excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Understanding of how local current affairs and activities impact employers and their workforce
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals
  • Comfortable leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
