The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is a critical participant in the administration of justice within Western Australia, providing an independent and effective criminal prosecution service and confiscation practice.

The ODPP is seeking an experienced and accomplished leader to drive financial, budgetary and operational performance.The Budget and Financial Operations Manager supports the Chief Finance Officer in the leadership and day to day operations of the Financial Services Branch.The role is primarily responsible for overseeing the delivery of strategic budget management whist providing financial services support for operational initiatives.

To be successful in this role, applicants will need to demonstrate:

  • Strong ability in the provision of strategic financial planning, within the WA government budget process cycle and associated systems. This will include ability to analyse financial and performance data, liaise within internal and external stakeholders to formulate appropriate evidence-based budget positions and outputs for progression to central government agencies, particularly Department of Treasury and Finance, and ministerial offices.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering focus to effectively influence, negotiate and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes or solutions, whilst operating within agreed financial parameters.
  • Experience in utilising the Financial Management Information Systems, or supplementary tools to enhance budgeting internal controls, business area engagement and appropriate management reporting to support effective financial decision making.
  • Support effective and complainant financial operations, through timely and appropriate interpretation, and provision of policies, procedures and advice of the Financial Management Act 2006, Treasurers Instructions and supplementary related financial and governance provisions.

Part Time arrangement of 0.8 FTE will be considered for this role.
