Uncommon Cow Cafe soon to have a full breakfast and lunch menu. We are looking for a lead working chef who has experience in expo to join our team. We are located just outside of Worcester in Grafton MA. An owner-operated established business for over 2 years, moving to a new location as we've outgrown our current shop. The Uncommon Cow serves everything from local roasted coffee to lattes, acai bowls, muffins and in our new location will expand our menu to breakfast and lunch. A family-owned business with owners that work just as hard as they expect you to work. Our head chef needs to be experienced and to be creative, organized, dependable, and enthusiastic to join our team We are looking for a culinary expert who can lead a team and help expand our current menu and introduce new and exciting breakfast and lunch dishes.

Location: Grafton, MA
Company: Uncommon Cow is a hip and cool restaurant serving everything from coffee to acai bowls and now breakfast and lunch items.
Salary: 85K - Commensurate with experience
Responsibilities- Direct and oversee the operations of the kitchen, including working with the owner on menu development, inventory, scheduling of kitchen staff, expo management, purchasing of supplies, and cost control.
- Create systems in the kitchen in order to maximize effectiveness of kitchen production.
- Create and update menus to maximize profits and minimize loss. Test and develop recipes. Monitor customer satisfaction.
- Working Chef experienced in expo window, recruit, lead, schedule and direct the work of others.
- Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities.
- Estimate food requirements and food / labor costs using systems that you develop. Food cost targeted goal to be 28-30% or below and labor cost targeted goal is to be 22% or below.
- Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
- Rectify arising problems or complaints from kitchen staff.
- Perform administrative duties.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Keep time and payroll records.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
- Experience working as a Head Chef
- Excellent record of kitchen management, staff scheduling and leadership
- Experience with food costing, menu planning and ordering
- Working knowledge of various computer software
- Degree in Culinary science or related certificate
