Now recruiting to positions available in 2025 in rural, remote and city locations. A variety of full time and part time positions are available. Are you looking for an opportunity to advance your professional knowledge and skills in paediatric occupational therapy practice? Working as an OT in QLD state schools is a rewarding career choice that can make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. We are seeking applications from qualified or soon to be qualified occupational therapists to join our great multi-disciplinary teams. Applications form part of a talent pool from where vacancies across the state will be filled as they arise over the next 12 months. New graduates (or soon to be graduates) are welcome to apply.

About The Department

The department employs approximately 100 (full time) Occupational therapists working in Queensland state schools supporting students with disability to achieve the best outcomes from their education.

About The Role

Occupational Therapists in the Department of Education work within schools teams to support students to access their educational environment and participate in learning.

Responsibilities Include

• Provide contemporary, evidence based occupational therapy services to students in state school
• Provide occupational therapy services which adhere to legislation and Department of Education policies and procedures
• Work within multidisciplinary teams
• Work within a multi tiered system of support in schools
• Maintain knowledge and skills in providing occupational therapy in schools
• Engage in professional supervision

Additional Information

• Applications are reviewed, and interviews are scheduled every 2 months.
• Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.
