Steel Scheduler
Location: St Marys, Western Sydney
Salary: $100k - $120k + Super
Role Highlights: This isn't an entry-level scheduling role. You'll be stepping into the shoes of a senior team member who's been with the business for many years and leaves behind a high standard.
Working with a respected name in the construction supply industry, you'll interpret structural plans, liaise with builders and engineers, and coordinate directly with production to ensure steel is cut, bent, and delivered to spec and on time for a range of multi-residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.
This is a detail-driven role, with strong team support and the opportunity to take full ownership of your work.
Role Overview
You'll join a tight-knit and experienced scheduling team reporting into an experienced & supportive Scheduling Manager.
Your role will focus on scheduling and detailing for reinforcing steel across commercial, multi-residential, and infrastructure builds - with a heavy focus on post-tension slabs.
You'll read and interpret detailed structural plans, determine what's needed, and communicate directly with production, dispatch, and customers to ensure it all runs smoothly.
Each day, you'll be balancing timelines, technical accuracy, and shifting schedules - this is a role where your attention to detail really matters.
- Interpret construction drawings to create accurate bar lists and schedules
- Liaise with builders, engineers, and site contacts to confirm requirements and changes
- Manage updates, RFIs, and variations
- Communicate directly with internal teams: production, logistics, sales, dispatch
- Maintain clear records of drawings, forecasts, and revisions
- Provide regular updates to customers on progress, delivery, and lead times
- Use scheduling software (aSa EX currently, moving to aSa Studio)
- Ensure steel is scheduled and produced to spec, on time and to plan
Candidate Profile
To succeed in this role, you'll need a solid foundation in scheduling for the construction or steel industry, ideally with a background in:
- Scheduling, Detailing, or Drafting
- Post-tension slab construction
- Structural steel or rebar for residential or commercial builds
You'll bring:
- 5years+ experience in a similar role (scheduling/detailing)
- Solid understanding of post-tension slabs and structural steel
- Ability to read and interpret structural and construction drawings
- Strong communication skills - you'll speak to customers daily
- Experience with scheduling tools (aSa preferred) and tools like AutoCAD or Bluebeam
- High attention to detail - errors here can cost days on site
- The ability to work under pressure and manage shifting priorities
Does this sound like you?
Culture & Benefits
You'll be joining a well-established Australian manufacturer who has built a reputation not only on quality products, but on the strength and capability of their team.
They've got a diverse, multicultural environment, a no-ego culture, and a management team that invests, develops and supports their people.
You'll be part of an experienced scheduling team.
- Full-time permanent position
- Monday to Friday. 8am-430pm
- Systems & software provided (Bluebeam, AutoCAD etc)
- Actively involved with charities, sporting events and community initiatives
- Sustainability focused, collaborative and a team driven culture
