What does the job look like?
We are looking for a Safety Manager to join the Linfox Intermodal Business Unit. This role will be based in West Melbourne VIC and will be working closely with multiples sites across VIC and other states. Working with some of our largest clients, this role is responsible for shaping and growing our safety culture with a focus on care, trust and inclusion. This role would suit an energetic and innovative leader who has multi-site experience in embedding a risk-based approach to keep people safe both physically and mentally.
You will actively lead the advancement of safety across multiple sites by providing proactive coaching and mentorship to enhance awareness, responsibility, and participation in Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SH&W) among team members across the Transport functions. This is an exciting, permanent position suitable for a seasoned professional with a strong background in safety & well-being awareness. This role will be working Monday to Friday with on-call requirements as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with leaders and customers to develop and execute business and site safety plans
- Embed a risk-based approach with a focus on every day, critical and psycho-social risks
- Coach and mentor leaders through a combination of site visits, facilitated training and workshops
- Develop and maintain systems with a focus on risk, health, compliance and customer expectations
- Manage serious incident investigations and regulatory notifications/interventions
- Measure and report on performance, trends and outcomes

You can demonstrate:
- Leadership experience in safety, health and well-being
- Deep and practical understanding of the risks unique to the transport, warehousing and logistics industry
- Commitment to personal development through formal education or other training programs
- Experience in facilitating workshops and leading incident investigations
- Working knowledge of work health and safety legislation
- Ability to develop and present results, plans and updates to leadership teams and customers
