We're seeking an inventive and technically skilled Textile Engineer to join our Textile Centre of Excellence within our dynamic product design and hardware engineering team. What You'll Do

As a Textile Engineer, you'll lead investigations into textile materials and manufacturing processes to develop softgoods for medical applications. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure our products meet high standards of quality, performance, and user experience. Your understanding of material behavior and user-centered design will help translate ideas into functional, manufacturable solutions.

In this role, you will :

  • Design and develop softgood concepts, applying your knowledge of fibers, yarns, fabrics, foams, and textile manufacturing & integration methods (welding, bonding, taping, overmoulding, thermoforming, wrapping, etc.).
  • Investigate, prototype, and evaluate new materials and softgood concepts to enhance comfort, durability, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimize designs for functionality, aesthetics, and scalable production.
  • Develop technology to ensure textile materials and processes are feasible for mass manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize Design Thinking to guide discovery and delivery processes.Work closely with the team on mask hardware product design, ensuring seamless integration of form and function.Ideate, conduct feasibility studies, create prototypes, and perform rigorous testing to validate design concepts.Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to foster innovation.Design, prototype, and evaluate textiles for new products, leveraging conventional and emerging processes (weaving, knitting, lamination, ultrasonic welding, etc.).Collaborate to define material specifications and ensure manufacturability.Drive creation of intellectual property through development of novel materials or processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Chemistry, Materials Science, Fashion / Apparel Engineering, or related field.3+ years in product development within fashion, activewear, medical, or technical textiles sectors.Strong knowledge of textile manufacturing and softgood integration methods (knitting, braiding, coating, finishing, welding, bonding, taping, laminating, thermoforming, overmoulding).Proven ability to translate materials research into functional, manufacturable products.Excellent communication skills to build effective internal and external relationships.Proactive attitude with a passion for innovation and continuous learning.

Preferred :

Connections with textile suppliers, integrators, and research institutions.Experience with digital design tools such as Clo3D, Lectra, Creo.Experience working with elastic, breathable, high-contact materials used in inner wear, sportswear, medical garments, etc.
