What You Will Be Doing

Carinya is a 26-bed purpose-built Aged Persons Mental Health residential care facility designed to provide high-level specialist nursing care to residents with complex mental health diagnoses who cannot be effectively managed in a generic aged care facility.

The DT oversees activities, leisure, and lifestyle programs to enhance residents' psychological, social, and physical well-being. Each resident has a tailored, person-centered plan developed with the resident, their family/carers, and supporters.

Programs include reminiscence, arts and crafts, sensory stimulation, and meaningful social and creative activities, including one-on-one sessions.

The role also ensures compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards.

We anticipate you will have:

  • Experience delivering programs to older adults with dementia, cognitive impairments, or behavioral issues
  • Ability to work with individuals and groups using diversional and meaningful activities based on resident needs and preferences
  • Ability to contribute to resident care plans as part of a multidisciplinary team
