*Role Insight*

As a Diversional Therapist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the well-being and quality of life of individuals by planning and implementing recreational and leisure programs tailored to their needs. You will work closely with clients, families, and healthcare teams to provide meaningful engagement and promote social, emotional, and physical well-being.

*Your Contributions*

Develop, plan, and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities for individuals and groups.

Assess clients' interests, needs, and abilities to create personalized engagement plans.

Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers.

Support individuals with diverse needs, including aged care residents, people with disabilities, and those recovering from illness or injury.

Promote independence, social inclusion, and overall well-being through structured activities.

Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports.

Stay up to date with best practices in diversional therapy and leisure-based interventions.

*What We're Looking For*

- A Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences (e.g., Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, etc.), preferably overseas.

- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Diversional & Recreation Therapy Australia (DRTA).

- Experience in developing and implementing recreational programs.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong ability to engage with individuals of all backgrounds and abilities.

- A patient, empathetic, and creative approach to therapy.

- A current First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).

- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (if required for community-based programs).
