Overview

Apprentice Outdoor Power Equipment Technology – Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology at Townsville City Council.

Position: 48 Months Fixed Term Full Time, 9-day fortnight. Earn while you learn opportunity available. AMA40 – AMA50 ($29,987 - $36,287 per annum + superannuation) based on schooling level completion. Adult (over 21 upon commencement) AMAA75 $50,594 per annum + superannuation.

About The Role

Under close supervision from industry professionals, this position undertakes a competency-based apprenticeship to develop a range of skills in small engines through formal and on-the-job learning activities. This position consists of completing a Certificate III in Outdoor Power Equipment Technology at TAFE North Queensland. You will develop the practical skills and knowledge required to undertake repair and servicing of electrical and mechanical outdoor power equipment including but not limited to, lawn mowers, chainsaws, brush cutters, pumps, generators and a large range of equipment. Additionally, you will learn how to identify the components of small engines, perform daily maintenance, and carry out safe refuelling and pre-start checks. About You

  • Willingness to be part of, and promote, a positive safety culture whilst adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures. Minimum completed of Year 10 with passes in English and Mathematics.
  • Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers' licence (or ability to obtain).
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to undertake the requirements to successfully complete the associated qualification.
