About the role

We are seeking a Delivery Lead to establish and guide a small team dedicated to ensuring personal information retention practices meet legal, regulatory, and business requirements. This role offers the chance to work across the organisation, engaging with both technical and senior business stakeholders.

  • Leading a team of 4 staff to identify, document, and validate maximum retention timeframes for business information assets containing personal information.
  • Assigning, tracking, and managing day-to-day team activities to ensure outcomes are delivered on time.
  • Consulting and negotiating with technical, compliance, and governance teams to implement required solutions.
  • Engaging with business units and senior managers to agree on maximum retention requirements for personal information.
  • Overseeing the design and implementation of controls, monitoring mechanisms, and governance processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • This will be 21-month fixed term contract.

About you

You are an experienced delivery lead or project manager with strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to guide a team to achieve meaningful outcomes in privacy and data governance.

  • Demonstrated experience leading small teams and managing day-to-day delivery.
  • Skilled in workload allocation, setting clear priorities, and fostering accountability.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, including working with senior managers.
  • Solid understanding of privacy compliance requirements, particularly the Australian Privacy Principles.
  • Ability to translate business and regulatory requirements into practical system and process controls.
  • Ability to translate technical/compliance requirements into language that resonates with business leaders.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating risks and issues that may impact delivery.
  • Ability to manage interdependencies between business units, systems, and processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to track progress and report on outcomes.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and governance skills to provide visibility of progress to senior management.
