About The Role

The purpose of this position is the operational management of Calvary Riverina Hospital after hours. The After-Hours Coordinator works closely with the Executive team to support the organisation business objectives and safe high quality patient care. The position incumbent provides high level clinical leadership, models the values of Calvary and supports a positive and professional workplace culture.

This position is temporary part time at 32 hours a fortnight with a rotating roster of weekends and all shift times.

Position available from the 08/09/25.

Your main duties will include
  • Coordinate and manage patient flow after hours, including planned and unplanned admissions; liaise with VMO and external facilities.
  • Manage unplanned staff leave and update KRONOS to reflect changes after hours of leave and agreed shift changes for current and subsequent shift.
  • Coordinate emergency responses after hours, and manage escalation of concerns and feedback by patients and their families.
  • Provide shift reports to Calvary Riverina Hospital Department Managers relating to activity, risks and ongoing communication.
About You
  • COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory requirement unless assessed exempt
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Post graduate experience in public and/or private health sector including clinical nursing practice
  • Demonstrated experience at a management level of a department or facility level
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement and accreditation standards
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary clinical practice
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to manage key performance indicators within budget
  • Proven experience in change management, facilitating a positive workplace culture and workforce engagement
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and constructive relationships
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team with the ability to manage priorities and a busy workload
