A great opportunity for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our fully geared Defence Maintenance Contract team based at Amberley, QLD.

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks

  • $41.54 - $43.22 per hour, inclusive of allowances (based on qualifications and skills)
  • Work 38 hours per week Monday to Friday and finish at 12 pm on Fridays
  • Training & Upskilling provided
  • Relocation assistance for the right candidate
  • Work on unique Defence vehicle and assets
  • 17.5% Annual Leave Loading
  • All tools, PPE and Uniforms provided
  • On-site Parking

About the role

  • Conduct Maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification
  • Repair or replace worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials.
  • Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts
  • Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs
  • Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection.
  • Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates

About you

  • Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level
  • Open to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy vehicle experience
  • Demonstrated experience to inspect, repair and maintain Light, Medium and Heavy vehicles
  • Must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's License
  • You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance
