About the Engineering Division – JUMA Consulting Engineers

JUMA Consulting Engineers is the structural and forensic engineering arm of CSG. We specialise in practical, code-compliant solutions for low-rise residential projects including new builds, renovations, and extensions across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the Sunshine Coast.

About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Senior Structural Designer to join our high-performing team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the conceptual and analytical aspects of structural design — distinct from a drafting position. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in developing practical design solutions and collaborating with engineers, builders, and consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes across a diverse range of residential projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed and accurate structural drawings using AutoCAD and other structural design software.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

• Work closely with the engineering team to deliver high-quality design solutions.

• Liaise with clients and key stakeholders professionally to ensure clear communication and project alignment.

• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, Building Code of Australia (BCA), and local council regulations.

• Maintain strong quality control standards and ensure all documentation meets company and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in structural design within the low-rise residential sector, experience working on complex projects and a good understanding of how houses are built in SEQ.
Qualifications: Advanced Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering or equivalent skills and experience.
Technical Skills: High proficiency in AutoCAD and structural design software (e.g., Hyne, ClearCalcs).
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian Standards, BCA, and local council regulations.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Organisational Skills: Ability to multi-task, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Work Environment: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
