Key Responsibilities

As the Assistant Banquet Services Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations within the functions team and maintain a hands-on approach to the internal workings of the business. As a key member of the Banquet's team, you will directly report to the Banquets Service Manager and provide high-level support to the Banquet's Team.

You will be competent in all facets of banquets, including:

  1. Coordinating and overseeing the daily conference and banquet operations
  2. Managing client expectations to ensure the smooth running of each and every event, from the moment our client sets foot onsite to the moment they leave
  3. Liaising with Conference organisers to establish day-to-day needs and special requirements
  4. Liaising with other departments as necessary to ensure a thorough understanding of the event requirements to deliver an exceptional function
  5. Assist in the follow-up of all guest comments, requests and complaints
  6. Leading a team (of up to 12 staff) in a fast-paced environment
  7. Communicating with staff to ensure all function rooms are set up as per function sheets
  8. Managing equipment needs and ensuring all equipment is in full working order at all times
  9. Taking pride in the workplace and ensuring our venues are well maintained throughout our events

Other Requirements

  • Committed to maintaining high standards and exceeding customer expectations
  • Experience leading a function (both lunch and dinner) for up to 300 guests
  • Ability to work under pressure and be solutions-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable grooming and personal presentation
  • Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol

In the absence of the Banquets Services Manager, you will oversee and be responsible for the running of the department.
