The Opportunity
Veolia is seeking skilled Industrial Trade Assistants, Painter Blasters, Scaffolders, and
Machine Operators to join our dynamic team at the Alcoa Aluminium Smelter in Portland,
Victoria. These positions are casual with permanent opportunities available for the right
candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance and commitment.

What you'll be responsible for
Trade Assistants :
Assisting tradespeople with industrial services including vacuum loading, manual cleaning, and equipment operationsOperating specialised equipment (vacuum loaders, hook lift trucks, tipper trucks, street sweepers)Supporting maintenance teams with tool preparation and material handlingPainter Blasters :
Surface preparation using abrasive blast equipment to industry specificationsCoating application using conventional and airless spray systemsApplication of protective coatings in challenging industrial environmentsScaffolders :
Erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffolding systemsEnsuring structural integrity and safety complianceReading and interpreting scaffolding plans and engineering drawingsMachine Operators :
Operating heavy industrial machinery and specialised equipmentMonitoring machine performance and conducting routine maintenance checksFollowing operational procedures and safety protocolsWhat you'll need to be successful
Essential Requirements :
Proven experience in construction, industrial, manufacturing, or blue-collar rolesStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsCurrent driver's license (HR license highly regarded)Excellent communication skills and willingness to develop new competenciesUnwavering commitment to safe work practicesAbility to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screeningHighly Desirable (training provided for right candidates) :
Including forklift, EWP, Basic Rigging, Scaffolding, HRWL qualificationsExperience with blasting and spray equipmentPrevious industrial painting, blasting, or surface preparation experienceWhy Veolia?
