Overview

Kingston University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior BI Technical Analyst to join our Portfolio Performance team on a maternity cover basis. This team plays a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making across the University through the delivery of high-quality data insights.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the design and implementation of data models and BI solutions.
  • Supporting student number intake and population modelling.
  • Developing dashboards that provide actionable insights.
  • Facilitating stakeholder workshops and reporting demos.
  • Supporting migration from Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud.
  • Ensuring BI and DWH technologies are fit for purpose and aligned with governance standards.
  • Deputising for the Head of Portfolio Performance when required.
The Person

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience.
  • Experienced in Microsoft SQL Server and Tableau (ideally Tableau Cloud).
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and influencing senior decision-makers.
  • Experienced in managing the full BI/DWH service lifecycle.
  • Excellent in communication, problem-solving, and customer service.
  • Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt to change.

Desirable

  • Experience in the Higher Education sector.
  • Familiarity with enterprise applications and databases, including HR and Finance.
  • Previous experience in a project-based environment.
Directorate/Function

The Directorate for Finance, HR, and Infrastructure plays a critical role in shaping and supporting the University's strategic and operational success.
