Yamagen offers a modern Japanese dining experience with a casual izakaya vibe, featuring a curated whisky and saké list, sashimi, sushi, robata dishes, and the option for an Omakase experience under Executive Chef Adam Lane.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, talented, and vibrant Commis Chef to join Yamagen. The ideal candidate will have a team-first attitude, a passion for culinary excellence, and a drive to succeed in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and produce dishes to high standards.
  2. Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to maintain an efficient kitchen.
  3. Attend to guest needs to ensure an exceptional experience.
  4. Assist with ordering and administrative tasks.
  5. Work in the kitchen as directed daily.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
  7. Follow standard operating procedures.
  8. Contribute to a professional learning environment.
  9. Perform other duties as directed by senior kitchen staff.
  10. Maintain good relationships with team members.
  11. Keep updated on food products and safety guidelines.
