Overview

Carpenter/Building Maintenance Officer role at Town of Port Hedland. The Town is seeking a qualified carpenter to deliver high-quality maintenance services across a diverse portfolio of Town assets including public amenities, recreation centres, and staff housing. You will work closely with the Coordinator Property Management to ensure facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained for the community.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out building repairs and maintenance
  • Inspecting assets, coordinating contractors, and ensuring work meets standards
  • Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining accurate records
  • Working independently, making sound decisions, and contributing to continuous improvement
  • Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and Town policies
Preferred qualifications and requirements
  • Mandatory Carpentry Trade Certificate
  • Working at Heights, Working in Confined Spaces, EWP (High Risk Licence) - Desirable but not essential
  • White Card
  • National Police Clearance
  • Current C class driver's licence
  • Rights to work in Australia
  • Support with these licences may be available upon successful completion of a 6-month probationary period
