PEOPLE & COMMUNITY MANAGER - MELBOURNE OR SYDNEY

Learn and thrive within an agency that's 'limited by nothing', delivering first class client work with a genuine commitment to our people and our community.

  • A unique People & Community role with one of Australia's most established, innovative and forward thinking independent AU/NZ Public Relations agencies
  • Be part of the Operations/P&C team working closely with National Admin and Finance, supporting our consultants with a shared ambition - to use the power of communications to help our people and community THRIVE
  • Flex on your People/HR experience ~ nurture the growth and happiness of our people managing engagement and culture programs
  • Engage our community including long standing colleagues, alumni and industry partners through internal and external communications strategies and initiatives

Thrive is a leading independent public relations agency in Australia and New Zealand. We are on the lookout for a full-time People & Community Manager to support the growth and engagement of our consulting teams and to manage engagement with our vibrant community that has grown over 25 years in business and across four offices. This is an opportunity to be part of the continued evolution of Thrive into 2025 and beyond. You will be at the epicentre of reimagining what an innovative workplace can look and feel like. This is an opportunity to be part of designing people-centric experiences both everyday and at scale; influence what diversity, equity and inclusion means at a forward-thinking agency; input and execution of learning and development programs; and be a critical player as our talent accelerator. You will be the connector between management and teams across locations along with providing the spark between our people internally and our wider community of advocates and Thrive friends.

Most importantly, the successful candidate is an exceptional communicator and relationship manager aligning with Thrive's values … meaning you're accountable (you do what you say you'll do, on time), passionate (showing next level energy to get the job done), unapologetically curious (well…the future belongs to those creative people), and have a high level of integrity (show us you care and want to be part of something special).

The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player, with solid People & Culture experience, knowledge and background. Experience in a Public Relations Agency or similar will be a real advantage.

  • Working closely with location MDs, the CEO and the Finance/Ops team to implement our People & Community strategy
  • You will be part of all the key People practices:
  • Talent Acquisition
  • International Communication
  • Orientation/onboarding
  • Performance framework
  • Lifecycle administration
  • Cultural initiatives
  • Oversight of our HRIS with our National Admin Manager (in Melbourne)
  • Oversight of OH&S and other workplace compliance requirements
  • Community advocacy & engagement programs

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, psychology or related - a communications/PR qualification with some HR related experience will be considered
  • 3-4 years People & Culture advisor experience in small to medium sized organisations
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Ability to build positive working relationships
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Creative thinker - ability to leverage being an independent consultancy with an attitude that we are 'limited by nothing' on our quest to develop careers and look after our people and community
  • Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication skills - excellent writer
  • PR/Media/Advertising Agency or similar industry

This role will suit someone who loves fast-paced environments and the dynamics of the public relations and media industry. If you have a fire in your belly to make your mark and propel continued growth, take on new challenges, join a talented team of communications consultants, have an innovation mindset, and want to be part of a trail-blazing agency, then we want to hear from you.

  • Hybrid flexible working - Mondays and Fridays work from home
  • Leave days like an annual Thriving Day (wellness day)
  • Learning & Development program both in-house and externally
  • Summer Fridays with an early Friday finish during summer
  • Social events, kitchen breakfasts and goodies, lunch 'n learns and friendship connections
