About the role

The Senior Manager, Financial Control and Regulatory Reporting is a 12-month contract role responsible for supporting the Head of Financial Control and Regulatory Reporting with the timely and accurate delivery of financial control, governance and statutory reporting activities. Working across a range of projects and initiatives, the role requires the oversight of systems, processes and procedures that govern a broad range of financial activities, including accounts payable/receivable, month end closure and reporting and statutory reporting obligations.

In this role you will provide leadership and support to the Financial Control team across a number of inflight projects, and also support the annual financial reporting processes, including the annual APRA data collection processes.

In your role you will Interpret complex regulatory and accounting concepts and communicate this to non-financial colleagues, Management, and Executives as well liaising with other internal business units and Finance Leaders to ensure Finance Policies are kept up-to-date and compliant with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

You will assist with enhancing the monthly financial close activities, and ensuring they are performed timely and accurately by the responsible team members. You will also work closely with Line 1 Risk and Compliance teams to ensure all risks, obligations and policy requirements are identified (and logged in the Risk and Compliance Management System) and mitigated to acceptable levels.

You will assist with managing relationships with outsourced service providers to ensure data and processes are compliant and effective controls are in place.

To be successful you will have prior experience working with the superannuation industry. You will be a qualified with CA or CPA status, with minimum 10 years post qualification experience in a chartered, trust/fund, or corporate accounting role ideally within the superannuation sector.

You will possess comprehensive knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Financial Reporting by Financial Services/Funds Management organizations (AAS1056).

Ideally you will have experience with Oracle Cloud or other cloud-based ERP/EPM systems.
