About The Role
We're on the lookout for an experienced Finance Manager to join our Head Office team in Arundel. You'll work closely with our Chief Financial Officer to lead financial reporting, drive compliance, and deliver insights that guide strategic business decisions.This is a hands-on role overseeing the preparation of monthly management and board reports, budgeting, forecasting, and the coordination of our national accounting team. You will also play a key role in risk management, governance, and ensuring the integrity of our financial systems and processes.If you love leading high-performing teams, streamlining processes, and bringing accuracy and commercial insight to a fast paced business, this one's for you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the month-end close process and prepare financial and board reports
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
Manage and mentor the national accounting team
Provide KPI reporting and financial performance analysis
Maintain financial compliance across tax, audit, and corporate obligations
Support the CFO with group-wide reporting and strategic initiatives
Drive system and process improvements across the finance function
Provide payroll oversight and backup as needed
Act as a key representative of Buildsafe's values and culture
About You
You're a commercially minded finance leader who's confident in managing people, deadlines, and detail. You'll bring strong technical accounting skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to juggle competing priorities with ease. Most importantly, you're someone who leads by example and wants to make a real impact.
You'll also have:
CPA qualification (or currently completing) and relevant tertiary background
Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial finance or accounting role
Experience managing people and finance teams
Strong Excel and ERP system skills (NetSuite experience highly regarded)
Excellent understanding of Australian taxation laws (FBT, Payroll Tax, Company Tax)
High attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
A collaborative, adaptable, and values-driven approach
