A vacancy exists for an experienced Finance Manager (full time – office based) to join our Head Office based in Southport. There are around 20 of us in our Head Office - we have a wonderful team, who work hard, and you are rewarded and appreciated for your efforts (think coffee & juice runs, birthday celebrations, fun nights out, team lunches, Friday drinks, and gift cards).

A snapshot of your role:

As the Finance Manager, you will add value to our organisation by managing the finance function, including day-to-day finance operations. You will work closely with two other positions in the Finance team to ensure payroll, quoting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions operate smoothly.

We are transitioning from Xero to MYOB Acumatica, so practical experience with MYOB would be advantageous. A continuous improvement mindset is essential to help us enhance our processes, policies, and practices, ensuring we follow best practice financial policies and procedures.

The Finance Manager will collaborate with our external accountancy firm, which provides strategic financial insight, reporting, and guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing daily financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and receivable
  • Overseeing payroll operations and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Working within budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  • Preparing financial analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are current and aligned with best practices
  • Overseeing processing of Home Care and NDIS claims, including monthly client statements
  • Handling accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Performing end-of-month reconciliations and providing monthly financial reports to the Home Care Director
  • Leading and supporting the Finance team to foster a collaborative environment
  • Driving process improvements and developing financial policies and procedures

Ideal candidate criteria:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Accountant or Finance Manager
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CA qualification highly regarded
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide insights
  • Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to drive process improvements
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in financial software such as Xero, MYOB Acumatica, Microsoft Office; experience with TRACCS is a plus
  • Knowledge of Home Care and NDIS claims processes
  • A positive, respectful, and solution-focused attitude, especially when managing priorities
  • Knowledge of SCHADS and Nurses Awards is advantageous

The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
