Ventia's Yarra Valley Water contract is seeking an experienced Call Dispatcher to work within its Network Operations Centre. The main purpose of this role is to effectively dispatch and communicate unplanned maintenance activities.

This role is best suited to those with a background in dealing with infrastructure faults in essential services and has worked in a control room environment particularly in the utilities industry and/or emergency services.

The position is a Permanent Full Time position based out of Mitcham, Victoria working 12 hour shifts (6pm-6am) 2 days on, 3 days off on a 2 week rotating roster with 5 weeks annual leave per year.

Duties Include
  • Coordinate multiple and different discipline Field Ops Water and Sewer resources to attend priority work
  • Coordinate and support allocated field resources through effective communication a sense of urgency and the use of technologies to minimise cost and reduce travel time
  • Prioritise and communicate work requests including client/customer escalations
  • Perform Fault Call Taking duties from customers as required
  • Drive productivity and efficiency without compromising safety, environmental and quality objectives

About You
  • Previous experience in a similar role and industry is advantageous or as a call dispatcher dealing with a diverse range of disciplines.
  • Prior experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems such as Maximo & Click is desirable
  • Demonstrated expertise in planning, implementing and managing maintenance activities
  • Appropriate secondary and/or trade qualifications with sound planning, scheduling capabilities
