We're seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our state-wide Oncology Services Group. In this vital role, you'll manage data for clinical research trials focused on pediatric, adolescent, and young adult oncology. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure all eligible patients are enrolled and that all research activities strictly adhere to ethical and regulatory guidelines, including the National Statement, the Australian Code, Good Clinical Practice, and Queensland Health policies.

About The Team

The Oncology Research Office provides high-quality research services to children with cancer and haematological disorders across Queensland and northern New South Wales. By conducting research of all phases with collaborative research groups, commercial sponsors, and local investigators, the team helps to optimise clinical trial access to participants.

About The Role

  • Develop and facilitate clinical research services, including determining patient eligibility, assisting investigators with recruitment and enrolment, guiding clinicians on protocol-specific requirements, facilitating collection of pathology research samples, and managing data in accordance with TGA and the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research relating to GCP.
  • Apply clinical decisions to research tasks under supervision and after consultation with senior staff.
  • Contribute to the development of standard research practices, procedures, and protocols within the Oncology Service Group.
  • Communicate effectively with health professionals within Children's Health Queensland and external organisations.
  • Enhance professional knowledge through active learning and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in quality and service improvement activities within the Oncology Services Group.
  • Provide advice, education, and support on routine tasks to other health professionals under supervision.
  • Guide entry-level research assistants and administrative staff.
  • Support a positive work environment that promotes quality HR practices, including employment equity and occupational health and safety.
  • Foster a culture that encourages high performance, leadership, and staff wellbeing.
